Navaz Karimian Pour
Navaz immigrated to Canada with her husband in 2006 and is now a mother of two young children. She is a scientific researcher, holding two Masters degrees in Biochemistry and is currently a senior PhD candidate at the University of Toronto, Department of Pharmacy. Her research focuses on HIV infection.
Navaz’s exposure to discrimination, oppression and marginalization from early childhood ignited her desire to pursue social justice. In her philanthropy, she passionately and actively contributes to the not-for-profit service sector, focusing on supporting marginalized populations such as new immigrants, women, seniors and LGBTQ communities.
Navaz enjoys reading, writing, cooking and acting. She hopes her volunteer work, love and passion for social equity and cohesion bring more joy to the life of fellow citizens.
